Emotional or psychiatric problems, stress related issues, or addiction can affect anyone. But no one needs to suffer in silence and live with depression or anxiety. Everyone deserves respect and their questions answered.
I am a Medical Doctor with additional extensive training and experience in adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. After obtaining a medical degree in Poland (Lublin), I was trained in psychiatry in the U.S., which included training in Adult Psychiatry at Duke University and in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Rutgers University. I have experience working at a Methadone Clinic, where I served as a Medical Director for the last two years and treated patients with various mental health issues addicted to heroin or other opioids. Previously I was employed at an inpatient detoxification program, where I mostly managed patients suffering from alcohol, benzodiazepine, and heroin addiction.
In my private practice I provide extensive and thorough psychiatric evaluation and treatment for children, adolescents, and adults with various psychiatric or emotional problems, including Depression, Anxiety, OCD, ADHD, Bipolar disorder, Psychosis, Insomnia, Stress related issues, PTSD, and more…I also specialize in assessment and treatment of various forms of addiction, including addiction to heroin, painkillers, alcohol, or cocaine. If indicated, I provide treatment with Suboxone for opioid addiction.
The crucial part of my services is the integral interplay of medication management and psychotherapy, combined with an extensive psychoeducation and a supportive approach. I believe that every patient needs to be provided with detailed explanation of his/her issues and all available treatment options. I also gladly educate loved ones to help them understand the difficult situation, which is especially important if my patient suffers from addiction or psychosis.
Everyone deserves to feel safe and understood.
Everyone deserves to get the best treatment possible.
Z powodu pandemii koronawirusa wszystkie wizyty, włącznie z pierwszą ewaluacją psychiatryczna, mogą być przeprowadzone telefonicznie lub przez Internet.
Do you prescribe medications? Do you provide "talk therapy"?
After an extensive psychiatric evaluation, I explain your diagnosis and all available treatment options to you. Then we both decide which treatment (medications, psychotherapy, or both) would be best for you. We will develop a detailed treatment plan specific to your needs and to your situation.
Do you accept any insurance?
Currently I am an “out of network provider”. If your insurance offers “out of network” benefits I will provide you with Invoice after you pay for the appointment and you may submit it to your insurance company to get a reimbursement.
I do not accept Medicaid or Medicare. Medicare patients have to cover all expenses on their own
Do you speak Polish?
Yes, I speak Polish and I personally pick up phone calls from my patients. If I am not able to answer your call, please leave me a message and I will call you back within 24 hrs.
Forms of payment.
I accept checks and cash only. Payments are expected the day of your appointment. If you have an insurance with “out of network” benefits, I will provide you with Invoice, that you may submit to your insurance company and get a reimbursement for your payment.
Where is your office located?
Is parking available?
To find detailed information regarding my office location, please go to Contact Us page. There are plenty of parking spots available surrounding the building. Unfortunately, these spots are metered and only take quarters.
My son’s school requested for him to be evaluated by a psychiatrist. Do you provide such services?
I perform psychiatric evaluation for children and adolescents only for diagnostic and treatment purposes, not for schools or other institutions.
Can you treat me with Medical Marijuana?
If you suffer from anxiety, PTSD, Opioid Use Disorder (or other qualifying medical condition), I may approve you for the NJ Medical Marijuana Program. (Doctors cannot “prescribe” Medical Marijuana, they can “approve and register” you, and then you can obtain a Medical Marijuana from the dispensary).
Before approving you for this nonconventional treatment, I have to perform a detailed psychiatric evaluation to assess your symptoms, to establish your diagnosis, and to rule out any other psychiatric conditions in order to recommended the most appropriate treatment for you. This evaluation takes at least two hours and is not only done to approve you for a Medical Marijuana treatment; after this evaluation I can treat you for any other psychiatric conditions with any medications or psychotherapy.
According to NJ law you have to meet with a physician four times before he/she can approve you for a Medical Marijuana Program.

I am currently treated with Suboxone for opioid addiction. My doctor does not want to start tapering my dose down. Can you decrease my Suboxone dose?
Yes, I will decrease your Suboxone dose. After a full evaluation, I will assess all risks and benefits of changing your Suboxone dose and will discuss this in detail with you. When fully informed, YOU will make a decision about YOUR treatment and I will respect this. I will follow your requests, working closely with you, providing safe treatment.
Your treatment is about you, you are the boss, you are making all the decisions. My role is to provide you with the correct information, so you can make the best and safest decision about your treatment.
I was evaluated and diagnosed by a doctor at a hospital and I am currently taking prescription medications. Can you continue prescribing medications for me based on that evaluation?
I have to perform a complete psychiatric evaluation myself to be able to understand your problems well and to provide you with a personalized treatment plan that best reflects your needs.
How are you managing the current pandemic situation?
At this point I am continuing seeing all my patients as often as they need, scheduling them loosely so that they do not interact in the waiting room and so that I have time to clean surfaces, knobs, pens, etc. between patients. I also practice social distancing and I am asking you to do this in my office as well as anywhere else to protect yourself and others.
I also offer phone call appointments and online appointments for all my patients who prefer not to come to my office.
Online appointments are conducted via secure HIPAA compliant telemedicine website. To be able to participate in online appointments you need to have a computer (or phone) with a camera and microphone and of course internet access. I will send you a link to your email and you only need to click that link to be connected with me.
In any situation, every patient is able to continue the current treatment with no disruption.
